Getting Started
When you download HealthMetric, the step-by-step guide will help you get started.

The questions and steps are designed for us to better understand where you are at in your health journey, and how we can help you reach your goals.

– Download and launch the app.

– Read and accept our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

– Follow the instructions on the screen to let us know your current health standing and profile information.S
– Customize the app by choosing a focus group and “Peep” avatar to match your personality.

– Walkthrough the tutorials or you can skip them. The tutorials can be found in the HealthMetric Settings page under Help –> About This App –> Getting Started
Navigate within the app using the icons along the bottom.

The Health Metric tab displays your Health Metric Score, today’s progress, and view options for the day, week or month.

The Where I Stand tab matches you with 10 random HealthMetric users in your selected Focus Group to see how you stack up.

The Log It screen provides data entry for all your health points and goals within your selected Focus Group.

The Prediction tab shows you if you will meet your goals tomorrow and the next day based on our prediction calculations.

The Settings tab provides information about the app including legal documentation, how to request support, and allows you to customize your experience by changing your “Peep”, goals and Focus Group.
No. HealthMetric is for everyone!

Our goal is to provide the tools and support for your health journey, no matter your fitness or health level.

Please consult a doctor prior to beginning a fitness or diet regimen.
The Where I Stand Page shows how you are doing vs. other HealthMetric users in the same Focus Group. Use it as motivation to boost your Health Metric Score and meet your daily goals.

You can mark another user as a favorite (they won’t know) to create your own competition.

Tap on a user’s score to compare your score with theirs over that past few days.

Tap on another user’s “Peep” avatar to view their goals. The Recreational Subscription unlocks the power to set your goals to the goals of any user you choose. That way you can stay one step ahead of the competition.
The graphs show if you have been meeting your goals, and the “Peep” to the right of the graph shows whether or not our predictive algorithm thinks you will reach your goal.

Depending on our predictions your “Peep” may be happy (excellent score), content (good score), or have low energy and be slouched (low score).

Use these predictions as motivation to either prove us wrong or prove us right.

If you have a HealthMetric Recreational Subscription, the prediction graph will be unlocked. When you click on the “Peep”, it will give you specific tips and hints to raise your score.

Health Metric Score
Your Health Metric Score is your simplified health score based on how well you have been achieving your goals. 

It’s calculated using a sophisticated proprietary algorithm specified to your personal health goals.

The algorithm takes into account what you are tracking in your Focus Group and your personal goals to give a simple – yet holistic – number to represent your health journey.

The badge you see on the HealthMetric screen is a historical average of your recent Health Metric scores over the past 14 days.

The circle around the “Peep” shows you today’s progress. So hitting your goals for today is good but creating positive habits to consistently hit your goals is better.
HealthMetric takes your data from the last 14 days to calculate your score. To raise your score, try your best to meet your goals every day.

You score may change day by day. The more consistently you add data, the more accurate your score will be. Your score also may change when you change Focus Groups.

HealthMetric may also consider other factors like your weight and age into the score calculation and default goals.

It is ok if you miss a goal or have a lower score then you would like, the important thing is to not give up! Take a look at our hints if you have the Recreation Subscription to find out ways to improve your score.
HealthMetric uses your Focus Group to calculate your score. Since each Focus Group has personalized goals, the app uses different data to calculate your score.

For example, if one of the goals in the Focus Group is listed as sleep, sleep with be included in the calculation. If sleep isn’t listed and tracked, it is included in the calculation.
HealthMetric takes your data from the last 14 days to calculate your score. Since you just started, you may not have 14 days of data entered in the app yet.

The more consistently you add data each day, the more accurate your score will be. Try to enter data in the app for your goals each day, but no worries if you skip a day. Your score is averaged out.

Don’t get discouraged about a low score. Everyone starts out with a different score. It is important to focus on how you can change small habits to create a pattern of positive change. That will help raise your score.

Focus Groups
Focus Groups are a way to personalize your health tracking experience by narrowing down what you want to track and allowing you to work towards a better you.

Free Focus Groups
Premium Recreational Subscription Focus Groups
Yes. You can change your Focus Group as often as you like.
Go to the Health Metric settings page. Got the Personal Health Goals section –> Focus Groups.

Click the slider circle to turn on the Focus Group you want (the slider should turn green once it is selected).

To change to a Premium Focus Group, on the same page, either tap buy, to purchase our Recreational Subscription plan or if you already purchased our Recreational Subscription plan, click the slider circle to turn on the Focus Group.
Yes. All your information will remain on the app.

When you change Focus Groups, all your data on the app stays. What changes is what we show you. Each Focus Group is designed with certain health goals in mind so only data relevant to those goals are tracked – around 4 goals per Focus Group.

Since not all the same goals appear on every Focus Group, your data on sleep analysis, for example, may not appear in the new Focus Group you selected.

But no worries, that data is still saved on the app, just change your Focus Group to a group with sleep as the goal to view that data.

Choose the group that best aligns with your own health goals.

Still not sure? We encourage you to try out different groups to see which one best fits you, your lifestyle, and the changes you want to make. Remember, its all about making little changes, try not to overdo it.


Peep” is short for people symbol. They are a cute way to help personalize your health journey and show off your personality.

We have a variety of “Peep’ avatars for you to choose from and even more in our Recreational Subscription.

Haven’t found a “Peep” to fit your style? No worries, we are currently developing even more “Peeps”! Stay tuned for more details.
Go to the HealthMetric settings page. Under the section App Settings –> Peeps.

Click on the category of “Peeps” you want to look through.

– The Starter pack is included in our free subscription.
– Additional packs are available for a one-time purchase or are opened with our Recreational Subscription.
– Special packs may only be available for purchase (not opened with a subscription).

Once you selected your favorite “Peep”, click on the button, set as” Peep”. Then click done.

Your “Peep” will appear on the Health Metric Page, Where I stand Page, and Predictions Page.

Go to the settings page on the HealthMetric app –> Click on profile.

There you can change your profile information.
No. You have to be at least 18 years or older to use HealthMetric.

*If you change your age to under 18 in HealthMetric’s settings page, you will be locked out of the app and all your data on HealtMetric will be deleted.

There are a few ways to upgrade to the Recreational Subscription. Go to the HealthMetric Settings page –> Account section (on the top of the page) –> Purchases.

Here you will see both the Recreational Annual and Monthly Subscription. Both the Monthly and Annual Subscription unlock the same features, you just have to choose if you want to pay monthly or annually.

Once purchased, you can manage your payment options and switch from monthly to annually (or vice versa) through the app story on your phone.

Options to upgrade to the Recreational Subscription (both annually and monthly) are located throughout the app were a paid featured is located. For example, if you don’t have a subscription and you tap to unlock predictions on the Predictions Page you will be redirected to purchase the entire subscription plan which includes that feature.
Your billing and subscriptions are managed through Apple or Google. To manage your subscription:

1. Go to Settings –> [your name] –> iTunes & App Store.

2. Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen, then tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in with your Apple ID.

3. Scroll to Subscriptions, then tap it.

4. Tap the subscription that you want to manage.

1. Open the Google Play Store.

2. Tap your Account Setting at the top of the screen.

3. Scroll to Subscriptions, then tap it.

4. Tap the subscription that you want to manage.

Use the options to manage your subscription. You can choose a different subscription offering or tap Cancel Subscription to cancel your subscription. If you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.

*When you unsubscribe to our Recreational Subscription you still have a free account with HealthMetric. To delete your profile and account check out the next FAQ “How do I delete my profile and account with HealthMetric?”

If you are having issues managing or canceling your subscription contact us.
There are two ways to delete your profile and account information as of now.

1.) Through the HealthMetric Settings: Click on feedback. Here you can write to us you would like to delete your profile. Click on the submit feedback button.

2.) Email us. And let us know you want your profile information to be deleted. Or send us a message through our contact page.

The default HealthMetric goals are defined by health entities including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Heart Association, the USDA, the National Academy of Medicine, and the National Sleep Foundation.

However, everyone is different so feel free to change your goals to better reflect your health plans. Use the info buttons on the Health Metric screen or the individual goal settings in Settings to change each of your goals or to reset your goals to the original recommendations.
Go to the Health Metric page and tap on the info button on the side of the badge you want to change the goal amount of.

You can change your current limit by pressing the edit icon on the goal limit. Use the slider to pick your new goal. Then tap save.


Go to the HealthMetric Settings page. Tap on individual goal settings. Here you can change your goals for the Focus Group you are currently in.

You can always reset the goal to our recommendation by tapping the reset goal button.

Data Management
HealthMetric does NOT share your data with third parties.

To help you stay motivated to reach your health goals we show your nickname, sex, age, city, Health Metric Score and goal progress on the OPTIONAL Where I stand page to other users only (not third parties).

The Where I Stand Page is completely optional. Simply select “no” to share data with other users prompt to keep your profile hidden.

We use nicknames instead of your real name to further help protect your privacy. Your real name will NOT be shared.

The only way another user can see your weight and calories is through the OPTIONAL Where I stand Page by choosing “yes” for sharing your data with other users AND if your Focus Group tracks data for weight or calories ( Not a “Diet” Diet, Physical Wellness, Heart Health, Sugar Tracker, Under Pressure, Calorie Math).

We will not share this information with third parties.

**To change your settings and keep your profile hidden go to Settings –> account–> profile, change “allow others to see my name” to NO.
